Music in Limbo

AWARDS

Philip Neill Memorial Prize in Music 2008

NOTES

I wrote this piece shortly after having left New Zealand when I arrived in The US. I felt very lost at that time, and a lot of the music I wrote during that period reflects this confusion. Music In Limbo is a fun piece to play, and a funny piece to listen to. In retrospect, the piece has some rather dark moments juxtaposed with very light silly passages all set to a kind of bubbly ragtime rhythm.  Music In Limbo works as a great opener to any concert to get the audience engaged.
