Obligations of (the) Invasive Species

NOTES

Invasive species are organisms that are not indigenous, or native, to a particular area (National Geographic). Sometimes these organisms could be knowingly introduced by humans while other times these organisms self-establish in the new area. Some people even consider humans to be an invasive species; certainly, we fit many of the criteria. On the other hand, not all new species in an area are invasive, and not all invasive species are all bad. Obligations of (the) Invasive Species is a piece that explores this idea of invasiveness, acceptance, and the malleability of creatures to their surroundings. It aims to address the broader question ‘Can an ‘invader’ ever really become a native?’
