10 FEBRUARY 2020 / WORKS FOR YOUNG PLAYERS

Shangri-La

Commissioned by Madison Academy of Music, Singapore

NOTES

I wrote this piece in honour of Roderick Teh and The Madison School of Music’s memorial concert. The instrumentation made use of the available students from the school and is written for performers that can play at grade three level, although lower and higher-level students can have a fulfilling experience with the piece. The music is uplifting, hopeful and reflects the attitudes of the keen students of Madison School.
