NOTES

I wrote this piece in commemoration of my 10th wedding anniversary. To compose it I started by writing 10 chords to represent each year of our marriage. The piece cycles through these harmonies over and over again throughout the piece similar to a passacaglia. These harmonies also bear close resemblance to my piece Tidepools written for my daughter around the same time. Tentides relies on differences in density rather than on melody to build the piece’s structure.
